The Groove

I still haven't found it. This is the 3rd week of my training, and I've had maybe 1 good run...and that's stretching it. I think I'll put out lost and found ad: Missing, running groove. If found please contact TMT. Hopefully, this weekend's 5 mile training run will go better.

Question for you runners, is it normal to feel constantly sore? I'm stretching more than I ever have, but the soreness does not subside. And, it's really starting to affect my sleeping; tossing, turning, re-locating to the couch, back to bed, let's try the floor, and nothing seems to make me comfortable. Any advice besides bashing my head in with a big frying pan to knock me out? Last Thursday I woke up at 3:45am and couldn't back to sleep. So, around 5am when I realized my gym was open, I went. I call it an accidental run because every time I "plan" to get up and run, my snooze button gets the best of me. Well, I guess sleeping troubles could be beneficial for my training.

In other news, I've FINALLY got my online donation site up and running. I'll post a link in my next update. For now, gots to stop procrastinating and get to work.

I had the same problem when I first started training. I was sore and couldn't sleep, and then I had bad runs b/c I was so tired. I finally caved in and started taking 2 ibuprofen before I ran and 2 more before bed. It took a week or two to break the cycle. Now I only use that trick for really long runs. Good luck!

Have you tried icing after running that might prevent some of the sorenss and also allow you to sleep better.
